Millions Of Americans

The MillionsofAmericans.com Story
[Florida Fight] [Helms Card] [Rush Card] [Protect the Pledge] [The Future]

The start of something big--Aschcroft and beyond. January 2001

Bush nominates Sen. John Ashcroft, and the Left is enraged. They go on the attack, calling Ashcroft a racist, and some Senators even go so far as to vow a fillibuster on the Senate floor. Election Integrity 2000, now working under a new name, MillionsofAmericans.com, goes back to work. 275,428 petitions are signed and delivered during a news conference with the Senate Leadership. Ashcroft is confirmed by a narrow margin, and it's starting to become clear just how strong a voice average Americans can have with MillionsofAmericans.com. Standing in front 275,428 MillionsofAmericans.com petitions on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, Senator Trent Lott and conservative leaders David Keene (American Conservative Union), Grover Norquist (Americans for Tax Reform) and Tom Jipping (Free Congress Foundation) discuss the tremendous amount of support the American people had for President George W. Bush's nominee for Attorney General -- John Ashcroft.

Ashcroft Confirmation Petition
275,428 Petitions collected

Whereas, President-elect George W. Bush has the right and obligation to appoint people who share his values and vision to his cabinet; and,

Whereas, Senator John Ashcroft has an unblemished record of service to our country as Attorney General of Missouri, then Governor of Missouri for two terms and a member of the U.S. Senate for the last six years; and,

Whereas, George W. Bush nominated Senator Ashcroft for Attorney General because he "is a man of great integrity, a man of great judgment, and a man who knows the law;"

Therefore, I urge you to disregard the baseless attacks on Senator Ashcroft's character and move quickly to confirm his nomination.
