Protecting the Pledge. June 2002

When a liberal California federal court rules that it is illegal for school children to say "Under God" when reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, MillionsofAmericans.com goes to work asking Congress for a consititutional amendment to protect the pledge forever. 133,139 of you sign it. The amendment is not passed, but the point is made, and your voices are heard. A few days later, the ruling is reversed. This wasn't the only work MillionsofAmericans.com did in 2002 though.

We the people seek the commitment of every U.S. Senator and every member of the U.S. House of Representatives to sponsor the "Pledge of Allegiance Constitutional Amendment" as follows:

When recited or written, the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America shall be:

"I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
